hey eveybody-i hope you all had a googd weekend and i cant belive that the dabte is on friday and the windmile is do thursday(ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)! any way i am reading this really cool book that kay lent me called a portiat of man and one theme has to do with good were the main character confesses his sins to a presist and he doesnt want to but he thinks that if he dosent he will be dammed to hell and by the end he just feels really guilty. this also brought me back to the book bridge to teribithia were the mian character puts it very simply that she dosent think that god spends his time daming people to hell becasue he has all of this to deal with. to me thats is so true and i guess what i am trying to say is over the next week it is going to be really hecktck and i think we should all make sure to do something fun or dangerous and live a little because were only young once and why s[end that time being stressed out!

we are all so going to win and today we got too really big trees for are house because we are having a chritmas party and i just really felt in the christmas spirt and realized that it almost a new year and lets really try to end this year with a bang!

you all are so cool and i hope you had a good weekend(i dont know how this all goes together but i just had to say it!)

p.s i went to the starlight parad with danny and catlin and it got me thinking that sense we are high tech high chula vista we should have a float in the parad or something and that could be a project..but a cool float..just a idea,...i think that there should be a student chosen project..also we moving into are new campuss after the end of this month. i really need to learn how to spell..

by the way the book is really good and tripy and this was supposed to be a reading journal@!!

A world of rainbow energy. That would be so awesome. It would be like everything got its power form skittles. Then you eat one and your like on a totally color meltdown. Apparently this is possible. IDK what else is there two say!!!!!!!

reading journal-twilight agian

Seeing that the movie is coming out next week and me and my Friends totally plan on seeing it primmer night I felt it fitting to read the book again before the movie came out. A sort of re-fresher course. I will say this it is defiantly not the best book of the serious that showcase her tilted as a writer but it is still very good because its the first time you meet Edward and Bella. Its the first time you see her fall into this unforgettable place were her life is taking her. You go there with her because you don't understand completely just as she do sent. I will say that i cant wait to see the movie because they took a risk in casting and got some talented young people that will actually bring depth to these characters rather then a more Hollywood young actor and actress would do. This is a girl who is just being swept away into a place she doesn't understand and just as much as its a thrill she is such a watcher and paranoid that she is surprising herself. To me picking Kristian Stewart (panic room, and into the wild) was a great choice because she has the ability to say so little with just her face and is so interpersonal. Stewart has a quite intensity that's prefect for the role and Paterson is really a intense actor too. I mean i know this is just a vampire love story and all but i think someone else would of left out the part that this is a guy who is going to be forever 17 and i think that if i was a vampire it would be both amazing and scary. I will say that i think the movie form the trailer looks very cinematic but still a faithful adaption and though i am sure it wont please everybody i hope its a hit and i cant wait to see it!

on the road-reading journal

I can say much about this book quite yet because i just started it and its been hard to get into it becuase i was reading like three books but this book called out to me and for the time being i put the other books aside. the book is about a wannabe writer who gets himself mixed up with a road man because he is seeking something but he doesnt really know what it is. to me it seems like it might end up being like easy rider or five easy pices. i wander if ther was a movie made about this book.

I just finished the book a clockwork orange and seeing that the presidential elections are tommarow theres a point that the book made to me that I think is something to consider when voiting(It sucks we cant vote but if your fourteen right now you can vote in the next election). The central themes of A Clockwork Orange our about how the world sees violence, there about redembtion but at what coast, there about choice, and eveb about the nature of good and evi, and human nature. Alex the central character of A Clockwork orange rapes a young woman in front of her husband, beets up a man for having a dirty book. Him and his gang of young holigins-with there strange made yp street talk and there lack of any censhership or conciance when it comes to volince-ther the reason we should be afraid to go to bed at night in this nightmarish futristic london. Eventualy the point of the story comes into paly when Alex goes to a clinc to get reabiltate by "the good guys" and even worse things that when he has done is done to him. We feel for him because he is both the por-and-an-tagonist of the story.

That beggs the question of can you do evil for the greater good. Does the means justify the coast. Is Alex a monster or is that we just never tried to understant him and mabye what we consider bad is simply what we dont yet understand.

I think that most immportantly Alex in the end even after beining re-ablitated comes back to his true nature he is beining true to ghimself and in a way its as if you have washed away all the bad you have done. you have reached a form of immortalty when you are able to let your true nature out into the open.

So my family is havinmg a party on tuesday to whatch the elction and all i can say is that in the world we live in A Clockwork orange has some resodainte messages. Is there a differance between good and evil or is evil simply what we dont fully yet uderstant-thats why i think in ahunted house the dark is scary cause you cant see. but most immportantly are we right hold back our true nature which somehow gets me to the point that when you vote you should think about these things. also vote or shut up. aslo i hope obama wins!

ART AND LIFE- A NOT SO QUICK RANDOM THOUGHT

Maya Angelou said, "Living life as art requires a readiness to forgive." -WHAT IN THE WORLD DOES THIS MEAN I WONDER! In my opinion the world is art and we our both a the canvas and the artist. We our the worlds canvas. The world is our canvas. And both the world and us our the paintings of something greater hats just there. I guess that the whole world is like one giant, wild, out of control Picasso and we all make up the different colors i its arsenal. But at the same time we live our lives and with every breath and laugh and cry its as we have picked up a paint brush and messed it up. But not in bad way, its more of a perfect- messy then a bad-messy-there is such a thing you know. So I guess the quote could mean allot of things and i think that specifically it is addressed to the way you live your life and that it is a art form to live a happy one but I think that live is art and loving is art and were all artist weather we believe it or not! But i think what she is saying is that to live a happy life you have to accept yourself as both a artist and piece of art!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S I should blog more about random thoughts more often and I really recommend Maya Angelo's memoir "I KNOW WHY THE CADGE BIRD SINGS" Its BOMB DIGITY!

reading journal ten a clockwork orange

over the weekend i started reading a clockwork orange and its really nightmarish and Trippe. its about this gang in a unseating future that prowls around at night vandalising and stealing. its relay crazy what this writer does with language because he the gang has there own special words that even though they dont make sense that do and there a powerful story telling device. i can see why they say the book has a way of glorifying viol once and i relay want to see the Stanley Kubrick movie version.

reading journal nine Running with Sisores

have you ever read a book that you got so into it you stayed up and read it all night to you finish it. thats what happed with ruing with sisores. it is the sort of book that is specific to people that get the humor that comes from total cahos, family traum, mindblowingly inoprprite jokes, and the humor of the quite and narsistic obsrevere. it is real one of the best meniors i have ever read and thpugh this is going to sound odd the more crazy. over the top, and disturbing the life of augestine gets the more fun it is to read. i guess the other thing to me is in some exretrmly odd way i toataly get him and can connect with him and i am not sure if thats a good or bad thing. i guess you would say that i know what its like to be running with sisores and as much as you keep faling and cutting yourself there is something comforting and homey about. i could go on forever but basically this book rocked my mind, world, and realy made me luagh out loud at the same time it also had me saying wtf and crying. it on hell of a book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi. sorry this one is late but just so you know this is for last sunday OCTOBER 12. My computer was down. any way the day we went on the collage trip me and kit-kat bought the same book without thinking that we could of shared it.(opps!) In any case the book is caled Running With Sisores and i have jsut started reading it and i already know that i am realy going to get into it. Its exttremly tripty and i have only read the first two chapterts but already you can see the disfuction. i cant wait to read more!

wicked reading journal seven

Is the person that I am how I would like to be rember? These are the exact queston I that the book wicked proposes at the very for me is so end of the book. The witch is dead but did her life mean anything. Did her death finaly bring her vicktory or was it her final defete. That is why wicked is so conected to this project.

Thats realy the oltimate question is the life that we want more then anthing the life that we live. If you live your life the way you like is it the way you want to be remebered. Is are death the end oltimatly the beginnig.????????????????????????????????????????????

wicked reading journal six

Wicked:the life and times of the wicked witch of the west is a book my causion gave me about three years ago and i have read it and not. it is truly easy but difficult read and i had never read the whole thing but i am detirmed to read all of it this time. i love this book and have ameditly gotten back into it all over agian

This book takes you away from Dorthy's perspective and shows you the life of the wicked witch of the west aka Elphaba Throp and makes her a brilliant anti hero who you want to root for. Dorothy begins to become the wicked. I love the musical version of wicked and its odd because the wizard of oz is one of my all time favorite movies but now I am totally on wicked side.

If they made of movie of the novel or musical I would go seek it. It has everything from the universal story of acceptance and never giving up, combined with politics, class issues, love, the nature of good and evil. even though you know were its heading its completely fresh.

On a side note though I would love to see a movie version made it would not be the same because it would be missing the one thing that makes it such a classic or should I say one song.

I have just finished Black Like Me and I would like to start off by saying that I completely recomend this book. It was one of those books that keept you intruiged and went to unexpected places. I went tell you much about thw whole book because I would want to you to be suprised but I will tell you what I took away from the book. It realy puts into prespective how twisted and off base were the racial asumptions of african american by white people. I am so glad to say that we realy have come far. I do belive we have much father to go but i think that were making progress. I think one way this progress is going to contie is when we create history by putting obama in office.

black liike me reading journal four

Hi. I have just started reading a new book called Black Like Me a work of nonfiction by John Howard Griffin. I really am enjoying this book especially because like breaking through it flows like a fictional novel instead of a work of nonfiction. This book really has away of getting you absorbed in. Its about a young rich white man who trades in his life of privilege for the existence as a poor African American in the deep south of the nineteen fifties when the race line was clearly show and dived states like Louisiana,Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama.

What would it be like to be anther race? What would it be like to be hated for the color of ones skin? These are thew question John griffin asks himself as he changes his skin color and gives up his cushy life to answer these questions . I am thinking to myself if I commended him on his bravery or find it odd and do not like it. I mean I think we all have maybe thought these questions and tried to understand racism but would we ever really go that far.

My awnser is that I probably would do something like that if for some reason the opportunity presented itself because I am sure it would be one of those life altering experiences you get have every now and then in your life. To be onest even though I would probably do it I also find both brave and distasteful somewhat at the same time.

But like most things involving controversial acts we continue to watch because were hooked and cant help it. I am hooked on this book and cant help it so i am going to keep reading!

breaking through..reading journal two

Hi. Warning:do not read unless you have read the end of the book!

I just got my copy of reading through yesterday and I started reading the moment I got and now one day later I am done with it. one of the things that I loved about this book was that even though its non fiction it reads like I had been scammed. I wanted two no the end of his story and then it occurred to me that this was just the end of his young adulthood and it got me thinking to myself about when I get older and I look back and if the life I am living right now will be something I back on with a smile or with a frown.

His story is really inspiring to me because its like a wake up call. By this I mean that lately when I think about how things are going and my life and I feel sad I give myself a slap on the head and think "stop complaining because at least your life doesn't include a chapter about I include in it. I wrote a mini memoir last year that is some of best writing and I am thinking about posting it along with a play I wrote that is in a contest as we speak based on my memoir.

In the end I am taking away two main things from Breaking Through. One is that we all have stories, including me, and that you should always tell yours because if not its a dishonor to yourself. The second is that my perspective on immigration has been altered because i used to think that it did not apply to me and it doesn't but if it did I would want the chance of a new life regardless if I had the papers and how could I deny me or any one else what I would not want myself to be denied. Bottom line, people deserve happiness and freedom regardless of what rules need to be broken but perhaps they would not have to if we as human beings would just
mend them.

PS. This book was awesome

MY FIRST WEEK AT HIGH TECH HIGH

I loved my first week at high tech high. I know that some people are still trying to figure out of it for them but i am definitely not one of those people. I love the feel of the school and by that i mean that it has a "wicked" (as ted would say) ambiance. I feel like whatever i am going to do at this school wil be out side of the box and i love that because thats what i am all about. my only comlpiant is that people are realy quiet but it is only the first week of school.

BREAKING THROUGH IS BREAKING MY HEART -READING JOURNAL ONE

Charpters one through six of breaking through have realy been somthing specail. I realy an not enjoying this book in the best way possible. By this i mean that i never thought i couyld realate to this book because its about imagration and i personly have had no experience with it. i was wrong. The part that got me was when him and his family were separated and he and his brother must live on there own. to be told that just because you dont have papers the home you have lived infor ten years is not your home and then not being able to have your family to cop with. that not only maid my feel for the character but it scared me. i dont no what i do without my family. I rember when i use to have to go to the hospital all the time and leave the comfort of my homeand trade it in for the cold hard reality of hospital bed. the only thing that got through it was my family.

breaking through has got me hooked and i cant wait what chapters eight and on will hold.
